Home, sweet new home

Welcome!  Come on in and set a spell.  This is the new blog that supersedes "That genealogy blog, again".

For those of you who read the previous blog, glad you found us.

For anyone new, make yourself at home.

New content is coming in the week to come.  The blogger format makes it easier for me to post, and easier to administrate the blog.

The first thing you have noticed is that we have a new name and a new look.

Simply stated, what I once thought was "cheeky" was in fact a turn off to a number of people.  When you have a smart ass name, you cannot be taken very seriously when you mean to be.

YOUR GENEALOGY MATTERS was chosen as a title for a variety of reasons:
  1. Your Genealogy Matters means that your projects, questions and concerns make a difference to me.  In the other blog, it was all about me.  In this blog, it really is about you.
  2. Your Genealogy Matters means that genealogy is the focus of the blog.
  3. Your Genealogy Matters is a bit more involved, both as a concern, and as round up facts, tips and content.
If we go to Dictionary.com, under the word "matters", we find a "whole lotta stuff" which I shall quote for you in total:

Matter: MAT-er. noun

1. the substance or substances of which any physical object consists or is composed: the matter of which the earth is made.

2. physical or corporeal substance in general, whether solid, liquid, or gaseous, especially as distinguished from incorporeal substance, as spirit or mind, or from qualities, actions, and the like.

3. something that occupies space.

4. a particular kind of substance: coloring matter.

5. a situation, state, affair, or business: a trivial matter.

6. an amount or extent reckoned approximately: a matter of 10 miles.

7. something of consequence: matter for serious thought.

So what this blog hopes to do is help you be a better genealogist, and help me be a better genealogist.

Because blogging is not my only obligation, regular posts will resume on Wednesday, and then follow a Monday, Wednesday, Friday, cycle after that.  It takes much more to promise and deliver content to your reading audience that anyone can imagine.  So I am trying not to over extend myself.

See you Wednesday!
